It's the first thing a child will consider when putting together their bedroom, but adults tend to shy away from decorative themes. A theme can be a powerful unifying device, not to mention calming. In this Netherlands bedroom, the wall-covering, curtains and bedcover are all a classic toile de Jouy. The headboard is custom-made, and the side table is vintage.
Mirrors perform several important functions in a bedroom. They let you check your appearance before you head out the door in the morning. They also bounce light—daylight or lamplight—around a space, which can make a dark bedroom brighter and livelier. If the mirror above a bed faces a blank wall or something rather drab, hang it at a slight angle, tilted out from the wall and it will reflect the colorful bedding below instead.
I love this product! I purchased it, because we have a really tall wall on our staircase. That wall has been very empty and needing something to make it look more inviting. I ordered this product on July 14, and received it July 28. I was impressed immediately by the thickness of the decal it does not look like a sticker, but more like a carving that has been placed on the wall. Secondly the shine and smoothness of the pieces is amazing quality, and gives a nice look to the overall appearance. It should be noted that the decal is several hundred pieces, but it comes with a template to and numbered pieces to show you where to pace them. I did however go a little rogue and made my own design after I made the initial tree. The decal is made to create more of a square look ... full review

In this stylish, rustic bedroom, Minnesota based design firm Martha O’Hara Interiors took the masculine edge off a reclaimed wood ceiling and stone fireplace with contrasting fabrics. Details including the plush neutral bedding and the country plaid curtains add softness and a sense of balance to the room. There is no need for a traditional end table when you have tree stump you can paint half white. The small wing chair on the right may not seem like a typical choice for a rustic bedroom, and that's the point. It lends sophistication while providing a practical purpose.
From an eye-catching collection of paintings to an 18th-century Italian mirror, thoughtful accessories steal the show in this Greenwich Village bedroom. The bed, featuring antique French linens, is upholstered in a neutral striped fabric by Robert Kime. The side table is 18th-century English, the lantern is 19th-century Indian, and the walls are in Farrow & Ball’s Off-White.

If you want to make a fast impression in any bedroom decor, then paint. Did we say that already? ;0 This room was done by ‘HGTV‘ viewer CvilleJanice..This bedroom is simple and sweet, and it’s because of that awesome blue on the walls! Ok, her DIY headboards (she used paint to update those as well!) and pretty quilts are also major players. But can you see how easy it is to makeover a bedroom, just with paint?
We love how this bedroom designed by Regan Baker boasts a bohemian feel despite the statement piece: That large-scale photograph of a traditional yellow bedroom. For a similar look, opt for a high-impact photograph of an interior that both reflects and juxtaposes your own space. And in true bohemian fashion, simply lean it against the wall instead of hanging it.

Yes, a nightstand with all the necessities looks lovely, but it can also be a way to showcase your personality. The more idiosyncratic and "you" it feels, the better it will work and the more it will be a testament to your personal style. In Megan Mullally's room, her and husband Nick Offerman topped their Holly Hunt nightstands with vintage mercury-glass lamps and fresh flowers.
How to figure out this number: It should be enough pillows so that your bed looks sumptuous and inviting when properly made, yet not so many that getting in bed requires 10 minutes of excavating. The sweet spot is usually between two to six, depending on the size of your bed. The bedroom of this Connecticut country home makes a solid argument for four being the perfect number!
A gorgeous mint green carpet introduces a touch of personality and luxury to this modern bedroom designed by Hecker Guthrie. The flax linen slipcovered bed frame, charcoal gray pillows, and greenish gray sheets. create the perfect color story. We also love the contrast between the sleek white modern side table and lamp with the relaxed linen bedding.
